The Huskers Dominate Wichita State: Nebraska Volleyball Finishes Week 3-0

Husker Highlights

The Nebraska volleyball team closed out a perfect 3-0 week with a dominating performance against Wichita State on Saturday night. The Huskers swept the Shockers in three sets (25-17, 25-15, 25-14) to improve their record to 9-2 on the season.

Nebraska was led by Madi Kubik, who had a match-high 12 kills. Kaitlyn Hord and Whitney Lauenstein added 9 kills apiece, while Lexi Sun had 8 kills. The Huskers hit .450 as a team, while holding Wichita State to a .050 hitting percentage.

Nebraska also dominated at the net, outblocking Wichita State 9-2. Lauren Stivrins led the way with 5 blocks, while Kubik and Hord each had 3 blocks.

Wichita State Struggles

Wichita State was led by Emily Hiebert, who had 6 kills. No other Shocker had more than 3 kills. The Shockers hit just .050 as a team, and they were outblocked 9-2.

Wichita State falls to 8-3 on the season with the loss.

Looking Ahead

Nebraska will return to action on Tuesday, September 20th, when they host Creighton in a non-conference match. The match will be televised on ESPNU.
