Justin Thomas: PGA Champion and Former World Number One

Early Life and Career

Justin Louis Thomas was born on April 29, 1993, in Louisville, Kentucky. He began playing golf at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks of amateur golf. In 2011, he won the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship and was named the Jack Nicklaus Award winner as the nation's top collegiate golfer.

PGA Tour Success

Thomas turned professional in 2013 and quickly made a name for himself on the PGA Tour. He notched his first PGA Tour victory in 2015 at the CIMB Classic and has since accumulated 15 PGA Tour wins, including two major championships.

2022 PGA Championship Victory

In May 2022, Thomas captured his second major championship at the PGA Championship at Southern Hills. After the 18-hole fourth round ended in a tie, Thomas faced off against Will Zalatoris in a three-hole aggregate playoff. Thomas ultimately emerged victorious, claiming the title and the $2,7 million prize money.

Thomas's victory at the PGA Championship cemented his status as one of the top golfers in the world. He became the 12th golfer to win multiple majors before the age of 30 and is widely regarded as a future Hall of Famer.

Personal Life

Outside of golf, Thomas is known for his outgoing personality and charitable work. He is an avid supporter of the Kentucky Children's Hospital and has raised millions of dollars for various charities through his involvement in the Justin Thomas Foundation.
