Officers Rushed to Hospital After Incident in Southwest Miami-Dade
Miami-Dade, FL - Two Miami-Dade Police officers were transported to the hospital with injuries following a shootout at a home in southwest Miami-Dade on Thursday night. A suspect involved in the incident was killed, according to authorities.
Suspect Killed in Exchange of Gunfire
According to Miami-Dade Police, the incident occurred around 10:40 pm. Officers responded to a call at a residence in the area of Southwest 224th Street and 112th Avenue. Upon arrival, the officers encountered an armed suspect who opened fire on them.
The officers returned fire, striking and killing the suspect. The two injured officers were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Officers Recovering from Injuries
The two officers who were injured in the shootout are reportedly in stable condition and recovering from their wounds. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
